Proper rod testing!
A massive well done to our travelling friend Andy Williams on the capture of the huge Mahseer from the Karnali River in Nepal. Andy travelled out on a 10 day expedition, and the fish weighed in at a massive 63.5lb! It is the largest known landed in the area for 4 years, and the second largest for 17, so a real achievement.
Travelling lighter than usual, Andy took a couple of our 12ft 3.25 XX111s to use, and they tamed this immensely hard fighting beast without problem. If they can handle a Mahseer of this size in fast flowing water, I truly believe they can handle any Carp that swims!
We are currently working closely in conjunction with our consultants developing our Pike rod range for the coming winter, especially out long distance models. We now believe we have the blanks perfect, and as always, these are made for us here in the UK by Harrison.
The Pike rod development has focused on producing the ultimate ‘big’ pike rod, capable of putting large baits at distance, but retaining lightness and usability, far easier said than done!!
Full details will be released very soon, and full reviews will hopefully be available in Pike and Predators magazine in the near future.
